Sisters Of The Road exists to build authentic relationships and alleviate the hunger of isolation in an atmosphere of nonviolence and gentle personalism that nurtures the whole individual, while seeking systemic solutions that reach the roots of homelessness and poverty to end them forever.
Monica is the Executive Director of a 30 year-old non-profit located in Portland, Oregon that provides both hot, nutritious meals for $1.25 (or in exchange for 15 minutes of barter work) but also works on the root causes of homelessness and poverty through community organizing and building a cross-class movement for economic human rights.
Sisters uses the philosophies on nonviolence and gentle-personalism as its guiding philosophies for all it does. Monica is from both rural (Newport) and urban (Portland) Oregon and is passionate about making these places safe and supportive for all people.
